Community Engagement

As a voluntary tool, Transfer of Development Credits (TDC) programs live and die by their acceptability in the local community. That acceptability is directly related to the level of understanding on the part of the community, specifically understanding of the potential opportunities and impacts that such a program could have for community members personally.
Our review of effective TDC programs in the U.S. highlighted the importance of a proactive, on-going, and genuine effort to engage local community members in understanding, designing and even administering Transfer of Development Credits programs.
